Dress Code PolicyProper Attire standards as described below apply to all players when playing at Alburg Golf Links.
Shirts:
Shorts:
Slacks:
Shoes: Relaxation of the above dress code as it applies to spectators and users of the practice range is permitted as long as normal standards of decency and good taste are maintained. All dress code issues will be at the discretion of the Professional Staff and we ask that all members and guests honor their decisions. Tee Time Reservations PolicyTee times are accepted 7 days in advance. If you have a group of more than 16 players, you can schedule tee times at anytime throughout the season. Due to increased play, it is strongly suggested that you schedule tee times seven days a week. Registration PolicyAll players are expected to register in the Pro Shop prior to using the driving range or playing golf. This will help us to maintain accurate records of driving range usage as well as the number of rounds played during the season. If it is busy in the Pro Shop, you can let the Pro Shop staff person know your golfer ID number and if you are using the driving range, playing 9 holes, or playing 18 holes. Please remember that we have a number of different staff people who work in the Pro Shop and although we place a strong emphasis on knowing each member, sometimes (especially when it’s very busy in the pro shop) staff people may forget your name or ID number. Please don’t be offended – we try very hard to respect our members and we hope that you will do the same with our staff. We want to hear your feedback. If you have any problems or concerns, please speak with Barb Cote, our Clubhouse & Restaurant Manager. Golf Cart Rental/Operation Policy
Course Rules Players are required to replace divots, rake sand traps, repair ball marks on greens and help maintain the condition of the course. It is the players' responsibility to see that such repairs are made. All play must start at the first tee unless approved by the Pro Shop staff. In order to keep up the pace of play, allow faster players to play through. Slow players may be asked to pick up pace of play. Each player must have a set of golf clubs. All players must respect signs directing foot and cart traffic on the course. Fivesomes are permitted on the course with Pro Shop approval. No pets are allowed on the course or in the clubhouse. The
play on the golf course shall be governed by the rules of the United States Golf
Association, except as modified by local rules which are posted in the Club
House and listed on the next page. Please be respectful of others with use of your cell phone. Loud ring tones and conversations can be distracting to fellow golfers. Local RulesAll bushes/trees are in play on the grounds. You only receive relief that has been tagged by the committee and/or superintendent with orange surveyors tape. Ninth hole: If your tee shot enters the tall fescue and shale, you may take relief in the designated drop area. If you and your competitor agree that it entered here, you do not need to find your ball. The option of hitting from the top is not available. Out of bounds are located only on the 1st and 18th holes. Seventeenth hole: Should your tee shot hit the telephone wire, you must replay with no penalty. Free lifts from all cart paths and extended cart paths. Plugged balls that are lost due to wetness may be dropped no nearer the hole, provided all competitors agree that it was lost due to wetness, with no penalty. Under winter rules it is important to note that one can not improve one’s stance even though you have a one club length rule in effect. If you have an uphill or downhill stance it is important to maintain the integrity of that shot challenge with a drop no closer to the hole. Note; this rule applies to your fairway only. The Rules Committee Strongly Suggests… If there is any doubt as to whether your ball might be out of bounds or possibly lost in tall fescue or rough areas, we would encourage you to declare a provisional shot and immediately take another shot. This will improve the playability of the course for all members. It is expected that all members should post all scores in the GHIN computer for all rounds played. This would include away courses and would require that you get the slope and rating of the course that will be required for entry. These rules are subject to change when the committee meets for 2008. Practice RangeHours of OperationMonday
- 10:30 A.M. - Sunset We will attempt to schedule regular maintenance on the driving range each Monday morning; however, there may be other times that we need to close it as well. We will make every attempt to plan ahead for these times and will post notices in the Pro Shop. We encourage you to take advantage of your unlimited use of the driving range. Practice range balls are not to be taken off the driving range. RestroomsRestrooms are available on the first and second floors of the clubhouse during regularly scheduled hours. If the clubhouse is closed, the restrooms on the first floor will be open. You can access these bathrooms by the door under the porch. Port-o-lets are also available on the 7th and 13th holes during the peak golfing season.
